128 Bras Collected – A Small Collection Making a Big Difference
Sometimes the simplest ideas can make a real difference.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been collecting unwanted bras at HB Workspaces, and thanks to everyone who has donated, we have now collected an amazing 128 bras.
Rather than sitting forgotten at the back of a drawer or ending up in landfill, these bras can now be put to much better use.
The bras are being donated through a bra recycling scheme, where they are collected and recycled for reuse overseas. The scheme also generates funds to support Breast Cancer Now, helping to contribute towards vital breast cancer research and support.
So those 128 bras are doing more than having a good clear-out of our underwear drawers! They are being given another useful life while also helping to raise money for an incredibly important cause.
Thank you to our community
What has made the collection particularly special has been seeing people simply turn up with bags of bras to donate.
Some have dropped off one or two, others have arrived with bags full, and every single donation has added to that final total.
128 bras collected by one small local community is something we're really proud of.
At HB Workspaces, we want the building to be more than somewhere people come to work. We want it to be a place that is part of the local community – somewhere we can bring people together, support good causes and occasionally do something a little different.
This collection has certainly done that.
And we're not stopping there…
We'll continue looking for simple ways that HB Workspaces, HB Travel, HB People and the people around us can support our community and causes that matter.
For now, though, a huge thank you to every person who searched through their drawers, filled a bag and dropped their unwanted bras off with us.
Who knew 128 old bras could achieve quite so much?
From Hesketh Bank to somewhere they can be useful again – that's recycling we can definitely get behind.
